In November of last year a terrific new restaurant opened in Eagle, ID. GRIT is a collaboration between Dave Faulk of Porterhouse Meats, and chef Paul Faucher, formerly the Executive Chef at 10 Barrel Brewing. Located at 360 S. Eagle Rd. adjacent to the Albertsons' complex, GRIT brings an inventive and diverse menu to the Eagle restaurant community.
The atmosphere at GRIT is decidedly casual, with an intriguing decor. The menu features a wide array of locally sourced products, including custom seasonings from Starlight Herb & Spice Company. A gas-fired pizza oven also lends character to various appetizers and entrees. One of our favorites is the Alder-planked Shrimp, spiced with an adobo seasoning we developed in conjunction with Chef Paul.
Among our early favorites are the chicken wings, described by one of our fellow diners as "truly amazing".
A great accompaniment to the wings is an order of fire roasted fingerling potatoes, cooked in garlic infused oil, crisped in the pizza oven, finished with our delicious Black Truffle Salt and served with a garlic buttermilk dipping sauce.
GRIT also offers an impressive selection of wines, eight regional rotating craft beer taps, and a fully stocked bar. Add in fast, friendly service by a well versed wait staff, and you all the makings of a very enjoyable dining experience.
